through ATA membership. With the unified voice of our members, the ATA is
able to challenge anti-industry legislation and protect the rights of the
teleservices industry. The ATA strives to bring its members the
opportunity to take part in the process of creating industry positive
legislation in many ways. This section of our site will provide
information on current legislation.
Close monitoring of state and federal
teleservices industry legislation allows the Government Affairs committee
to promote industry issues and lobby to promote positive industry
legislation. Committee members also aid in the planning of the ATA annual
spring Legislative Conference on Capitol Hill. The ATA Government Affairs
Committee provides a forum where members formulate association policy on
national and state legislative and regulatory issues, develop educational
materials for the association’s membership, and chart strategy for
influencing the outcome of national and state policy affecting the
teleservices industry.The Government Affairs Committee will seek to
support policy that is aimed at improving the economic well-being of ATA’s
members, and will attempt to operate, as much as possible, on a consensus
view. Positions recommended by the committee will be communicated to the
ATA membership for comment and approval.
